Less than 2 months until Christmas!!

As we get closer to the holidays...have you ever stopped to consider the amount of "stuff" we go through? Here's an idea that will save you money and make you feel better because you are going green for the holidays.

Make your own wrapping
This can be a fun activity to do with your family or for an after work break--either use large stamps or create your own stamp by carving a potato with a cookie cutter (a star, a tree, a large circle). The trick here is to cut the potato in half, press the cookie cutter into one half of the potato, and carefully slice away a layer of potato without cutting into the image--so as to create raised cutout of your image--this becomes your stamp. Use some craft paint on a plate or flat surface as your "stamp pad," and stamp images on one side of a newspaper or flattened brown paper bag. Allow to dry before wrapping. Secure with hemp twine, brown string or whatever your fancy. Not only are you cutting down on the amount of waste, but you are being mighty fashionable by using your own signature wrapping!
